Wallflower » 2009
I worked on a small team with Taymoore Balbaa of U of T, Chris Wong of Wallman Architects and another fellow student to produce this project for RIBA’s competition for the National Wildflower Center in Liverpool. I weighed in on the design as it was led by Taymoore and Chris, and was responsible for creating all perspective views.
I am fascinated by the interplay of shapes along with the metaphor of the title “wallflower,” as depicted in this design. The walls and the flowers create an interesting juxtaposition of lines and randomness. The design creates feelings of loneliness and surprise, both of which reside in “wallflowers.”
